Musician.Arranger.Composer.Produces.Graduated from teacher ITMC (Representative of the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles in Argentina).
Born in Buenos Aires, July 19th, 1979. Began studying guitar in 1992, but it won’t be until 1996 that he began to take it seriously and metodically, at the age of 16.
In 1998, being only 18 years old, and after a tough exam, he began his career at the I.T.M.C (Argentinean representative of Musicians Institute of U.S.A) where later he finally get the title of “Professor and Professional Instrumentist of American Popular Music”, with wide knowledge of differents styles such as Jazz, Funk, Rock, Heavy Metal, Blues, Latin, Fusion, Folk and Tango.
During this process, he studied with great musicians like Ernesto D’Mitruk, Martin Knye, Luis D’agostino, Guillermo Arrom, Juan Farías Gomez, Ernesto Jodos Posse, Marcelo Kitay, Manfred Schwarzkpof, etc. He also attends masterclasses and clinics done by recognized musicians as Pino Marrone, Scott Henderson, Sid Jacobs, Etc. |

In the year 1999, after lots of projects, he’s picked by the prog rock-metal band “Kristine”, which already had a long time in the scene. With this band Santiago does, and for first time in the country, shows combining theater with music, presenting the concept piece “Sonriente Bufón”.
In 2001, Kristine release it’s first album “Obertura”, with wide press difusion in Argentina and countries like Japan, Finland, Spain, U.S.A, Sweden, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile, Brazil, etc. Also in this year, Santiago did guitar articles for “La Carnada” and “Power Music” magazines.
In 2003, after the end of Kristine, he gave birth to the Tango project “La Porteña”, a guitar-voice duo, in which Santiago takes charge on the melodic-harmonical work. In this format, they record and EP of 5 songs a tour, with great success, in the most recognized places of the scene.
In 2004, after the disolution of the tango duo, he comes back to the Prog Rock-Metal scene with a new band, Thabu.
In 2005, with Thabu already formed, they began the composition of the songs and record an EP, in which Santiago records all the guitars, basses and some keys.Also they tour with great succes in Buenos Aires and other pronvinces, calling the atention of the press due to the technical and melodic work of the band.

In 2006, Thabu get into the studio to finally record what will be their first full lenght “La Opresion de lo Inevitable”, but due to some changes in the line-up, they don’t play live. During this year, Santiago begins the composition of the songs of his instrumental solo project., presenting them live.
In 2007, Santiago is invited to record some solos in the album of the Mexican Band “Vuelo Nocturno”. With Thabu, besides lots of shows in Argentina, they do their first international tour, performing 2 shows in Chile (Viña del Mar and Santiago) calling the attention of the crowd and the specialized press.
Also, he takes part of the mix and mastering of Thabu’s first album.
In 2008, Santiago release his first solo Ep called “Libertad” which is presenting live. Also in that years, he work as a producer, composer and sesionist of the singer Diego Scarpelli, where he takes charge of all the recordings of the bass, guitars and keys. In september of that year, Thabu’s debut album “La Opresión de lo Inevitable” is finally released.
In 2009, is chosen for giving lessons to students all around the world by the page www.guitarmasterclass.net, getting lots of compliments of partners and students. In novermber of this same years, is picked also for the recordings of a clinic for the page www.leadguitargurus.com. |

In 2010, he finally gave form to the “Santiago Diaz Garces’ Guitar School”, with over 50 students of Argentina and of another parts of the globe thanks to the “Online Class” method. With Thabu, they leave the live performance to get into the studio and sculpt and record what will be the new album of the band, which will be released in early 2011.
